The project Walkyrya takes the light at the end of 1999 from idea of two funs and musicians of music Heavy Metal and of literature of niche: Vince Santopietro and Donato Gallicchio. Both truthfully tied up at their own earth of origin, the Lucania, decides to melt their passions and their tradition in a musical project that could publicize and to promote their earth through the communion of a Heavy sound and the Lucania culture. Its known that in Italy the musical phenomenon is a very strong recalled and within the Heavy Metal any Lucania bands has ever emerged (despite the Lucania entertains the most famous Heavy Metal festival of the south Italy in Chiaromonte, every August, from ten years and it has seen the band among the protagonists of the event during the X edition), the desire to succeed in drawing a proper space to national level is very felt, but the support of the Institutions is not interested to bet on something innovative for the development of the territorial identity about Lucania.At the founders of the initiative Walkyrya , within the years others two valid elements are added of felt experience that contribute all the realization and the execution of the music of the band today: Antonio Colicelli and Vincenzo Ottaviano, both musicians of this sector. The first one has played in the D.A.Y.A., band that has succeeded in emerging national circle but not affirm him and that he has boasted live numerous exhibitions, understood an evening of opening at the concert of Ligabue in the nineties to Reggio Emilia. The second has spent good part of his musical career inside the Burning Noise, other Lucania band that has emerged in the first years of nineties with the asset numerous evenings live and a recorded demo-tape. The artistic maturity reached in the preceding experiences has done of the project Walkyrya could express the best Heavy Metal band local and they could create a solid base to spread a new message. It's to remember the literary experiences of Vince Santopietro, author of two books of poetries and many prizes in the national anthologies of poems, he has written during the last years and edited from a Milanese publishing house, Montedit (LANIMA CON GLI STIVALI), as well as his presence in internet with on-line publications of his recent writings. The product of the Walkyrya has been completely realized in Lucania with the support of existing structures on the territory rather famous also out region, among all the home of recording Little Italy of Campomaggiore (often used by famousjazz players and by the singer and songwriter Mango), GI.PA. Recording Studio of Potenza and the firm of record post-production CD&M of Filiano. The CD of debut contains numerous references to the earth of origin of the components of the band: from the cover that represent the castle of Federico II of Melfi and the Palatine Tables of Metaponto at the declamation about some verses of the Lucania poetess Isabella Morra like prologue at the passage "Secret Of The King." At the arrangement of the songs have collaborated both Lucania musicians no more known and one of the most greater exponent of the italian Heavy Metal: the guitarist of the Milanese band of Extrema, Tommy Massara. The last recorded traces and still unpublished, always tell the history and the Lucania customs and they narrate besides heroes, often maltreated by the history: the Bandits (Briganti). The new CD in phase of recording, will see besides, how special guest the voice of Pino Scotto leader of the dissolved historical Heavy band of Vanadium and actual frontman of the Fire Trails. Currently the band is also hocked in the resumptions of a videoclip that, just completed, it will be transmitted from the broadcasting stations television at musical theme of the group SKY, Rock TV and MTV. Unfortunately the guitar hero Vincenzo Ottaviano leaved the band at first days of 2006 for contrast of ideas with other members of the band and in September 2006 the new guitar of Walkyrya follow the name of the young Tony Perrone presented at place castle of Tito (Pz)in the music festival.
