Violent Deception is a four piece band, comprised of: Lead Axe-man and Vocalist Jon Horberry, Speed Guitarist Hector Maddock-Greene, Driving Bassist Reece Thompson and Machine-gun Drummer Phil Weeks. Together the band blend a unique form of Classic Heavy Metal, infused with Speed, Power, Thrash and NWOBHM sensibilities. With a distinct influence from such metal legends as Iron Maiden, Running Wild, Megadeth, Helloween, Judas Priest and modern hints from the likes of Wolf, StormWarrior, Iced Earth, Primal Fear and Iron Fire, the music surging forward is a force to be reckoned with. Crushing riffs, soaring leads, lightning guitar solos, blistering rhythms, huge choruses, dark lyrics and raw vocals are the order of the day with Violent Deception, as well as killer drum beats and thundering bass licks. Constantly evolving and maturing, the band steadily output high quality songs with a raw edge.

Violent Deception began their steady rise in January 2009 with the completion of the current line-up and first song ‘Not Enough’ and began working on playing faster, heavier and more melodic music than their peers, playing their first gig in May of the same year. Causing a stir in the music scene from their inception, the band gigged relentlessly throughout the rest of the year, playing various venues with the likes of Pitiful Reign, Heat-Ray, Pastel Jack, Innersylum and XIII, finishing their year with the awesome ‘Xmas Bash’; securing a place on the East Riding Rock Festival (with groups such as Blaze Bayley, Ackercoke, Intense, Gwydion and local heroes Ravenage) and a slot supporting Conquest Of Steel for the coming year in 2010.
