Biografie : Ved Buens Ende

There are bands who are elected by fate to be cult without the opportunity to become famous, Ved Buens Ende remains an hidden treasures to be found by the few, a radical experience that can change life, a grey, melancholic, sorrowful, sick vision obscured by an almost surreal atmosphere.
The black metal echoes are involved in a new dimension, where the Voivod-like disharmonic geniality and jazz influences is a magical hallucinating potion. A record label like Misanthropy have the historical value of the release of the ‘95 Ved Buens Ende's debut “Written in Waters” , an album where a super-band, formed by members of Ulver and Dodheimsgard, performs a music written to open gates to mysterious places of total isolation from the common imaginary. Listen to the awesome songs of “Written…” is something unusual, darkly suffused, hypnotic, a dimension of death and spiritual alienation. This is a journey to non-human landscapes of misanthropy, where a man left behind its nature to flow in tunnels of imagination, shading visions, descending in the abyss of the sombre mind. A memory is fading away, like a loud echo.

The second official Misanthropy release of that Norwegian band is a remake of some excellent demo songs and some new ones, probably. “Those Who Caress The Pale” is a shorter album that sound in the same vein of “Written…”, similar moods and the same excellent quality, a chapter of absolute artistic excellence. Ved Buens are so original, unique, the singer, like in the debut, alternate the raw, harsh and extreme screaming to a sorrowful and melancholic clean singing, the emotive power of this lines are haunting, a voice from the deeper, inner self. So many years are passed and nothing new is talked about a possible future and it's really a pity, but at last the ingenious spirit of the band's members has an expression in other interesting bands in the Norwegian scene, the rest is history, cult!!
