Biography : Triquel Rock Celta

Triquel is a six-piece Celtic rock band from Valladolid (Spain). They have shared backstage with bands like The Chieftains, Celtas Cortos, Carlos Nuñez, Na Lua, Hevia, Gwendal or Kiko Veneno.

The band got its start in 1991. It's then when they begin to elaborate a common project dedicated to compose pieces with Celtic roots without leaving the essence of the rock. These songs are a blend of original and traditional Celtic music material. The lyrics are thoughtful and protest, sometimes melancholy and almost always festive, mainly in Spanish, though they also sing in English and Galician.

The show that they offer attracts a many-colored public, managing to make them dance, laugh, sing, think and, in a word, enjoy.

They have released three albums: "Akelarre" (1996), "Bichos Raros" (2002) and "Sin hacer ná" (2008) recorded all of them in Armando Records Studios in Valladolid (Spain). "Akelarre", their first album, had the honor of being distinguished as the best Folk record of 1996 of new groups by the program "Trébede" of Radio Nacional de España, Radio 3 (RNE).

The members of Triquel are Florentino Cañibano (bass, harmonica and choirs), Juan José Cartón (electrical and acoustic guitar, whistle and principal voice), José Alfonso Garrido (violin, mandolin and choirs), Luis Alberto Pelaz (drums), Iván San José (keyboards and choirs) and Sonia del Val (flute, pipe and choirs).
