Biographie : Taine

TAINE has been founded in 1993 as a consequence to Andy's choice to have a “100% metal” band, while he was influenced at that time by well known bands as Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mekong Delta, Carcass, Coroner, Cynic, Atheist, Death and many others.

The idea of founding “Taine” band actually materialized it self by the enormous indirect influence of Megadeth. Being a fan of this band, especially of Dave Mustaine, Andy had at the time all the walls covered by posters with Megadeth' members. So, in one day, searching for a revelation or a epiphany that could help to put in place his dream of having a metal band, he sow the picture and the name of Dave MUSTAINE, and that's how “Taine” denomination appeared. The last syllable of Mustaine's name—TAINE—has a deep, esoteric meaning in Romanian. In Romanian language, Taine is a polysemantic word and most of its means are related with the Orthodox Church belief in the 10 mysteries.

Their story begins by the “cooptation” of 13 years old kid named Ady Tabacaru to play drums and of Stefan Aldea at guitar. Several months later, Andrei Ncolescu, playing bas, joins the band and then the rehearsals begin and they composed their first songs. Mean while, there has been set up a gang of few bands from Bucharest, namely CRONOS, ABIGAIL, INVERS and PLUTONIUM together with Taine begins a session of concerts in Romanian capital.

On that period the songs "DESTIN","THE END","CONFUSSION","SECRET PLACE", "REPENT!" are composed. During the years 1993-1994 these are recorded on rehearsal room and their first demo tape, titled “DESTIN” is completed.

In the summer of 1994 thanks to the TV producer Petre Magdin there are recorded in television studio 3 of their compositions in order to play them on a TV show broadcasted on the main Romanian National Television channel (TVR 1), named “Intalnirea de la miezul noptii”, show that was dedicated entirely to the rock music.

In 1995 the bass player Andrei Nicolescu is replaced by Nica Narcis and soon after he is as well replaced by Bogdan Visan, formerly one of the components of CRONOS band from Bucharest, and this time the band's composition is finally stable. It must be said that subsequently to this “good investment” the band participates to almost all the genre festivals along the country, gaining both public's and organizers consideration and being awarded with some of the prices they competed for. And these are:

-1994 Campu Lung Muscel-"Posada" –third place

- 1996 Bucharest - "Metal Fan"- best prize

- 1996 Campu Lung-Muscel-"Posada"-special prize

- 1997 Satu-Mare -"Samus Rock 97"-seccond prize

- 1997 Dej- "Rock Music 97"- best prize

- 1997 Buzau- “Top T "- first place

-1997 Campulung-Muscel-"Posada97"-best prize

Furthermore, Adrian Tabacaru becomes one of the most praised percussionists from Romania in spite of his youth and gains many awards independently. This is one of the reasons that determinates his later choice to complete his studies at “Dinu Lipatti” Secondary School of Musical Studies and then at “ Bucharest's University of Musical Studies”

In 1995, another demo named The Light of the Truth is brought into light. The idiom is well chosen hence this demo also was recorded on the rehearsal room, but in better circumstances than those of the first one. The fallowing songs are included in this latest demo:

1. Ce esti tu?

2.Avoid The Pain

3.Woman

4.Prea Mult

5.Repent!

6. Cealalta Parte

7.Secret Place

Finally, in 1996, another two songs are recorded on the same demo conditions and together with an older song are added to the 7 ones written above. Those are “Vanity”, “Love and Hate” and, respectively, “ Secret Place”. This is the final form of a recording that becomes a sort official DEMO-TAPE titled “Cealalta Parte”.

During the year 1997 the songs “Woman” and “Ce esti tu?” are recorded on “B'inisor” studio. “WOMAN” is included on the first Romanian “metal” compilation named "Underground Romania Rock vol. 2"and produced by “East & Art”.

As a result of their stage performances and high quality compositions, an important Romanian label –Promusic Prod” from Cluj, makes them an offer to sign a contract. The contract is concluded and TAINE finally gets in a professional recording studio in Cluj, even if it is far away from their hometown. The songs included on the “Cealalta Parte” album are as follows:

VANITY

PIERDUT

CE ESTI TU?

PREA MULT

PSALM PARTEA 1 SI 2

LIE

AVOID THE PAIN

Cealalta Parte

During the years 2001-2003, Taine broke the barrier of an Eastern European country, being one of the few local bands—if not the first of them—that were appreciated on the western musical market, and had some successful concert abroad, in Germany during the festival “Tribute to Monsters of Rock” and France, at FIMU Festival.

On the spring of 2003 they've made their first video clip—NO PERSONALITY— with the support of the PR manager Andy Ionita and it is firstly broadcasted on MTV Romania.

These achievements were followed by many concerts in the country and few of them even abroad, in France and Germany and, in December 2003, there is reached a climax by their performance in the opening of KREATOR's concert at Sala Polivalenta from Bucharest.

Moreover, during the last year the band was strongly promoted by MTV Romania and other Romanian music televisions, which often broadcasted their videos and interviews. As a consequence of public increasing interest in this band, Taine produced their second video clip—INGER SAU DEMON.

At the time being there is arranged the material for a new album—the songs being already mixed and now are to be mastered somewhere abroad -- and for the DVD ,material that will present the band's history , “DECADE OF METAL”—the ten years past in the service of metal. Taine's DVD was finally launched on the last decade of March and constituted the first product of that type released on the national underground scene of metal.

After 10 years of playing with TAINE, in the summer of 2005, Bogdan Visan has decided to leave it without any explanation. He invoked some personal reasons but never detailed them. Shortly after leaving the band he announced that he intends to rise again its former band "CRONOS". He was immediately replaced by a young and promising bass player - Robert Pieptan who currently played with another band, "Avskild" but he continued co-operating with both bands, trying to do his best, culminating with the opening for "Obituary", when he played twice that evening. Recently he quit playing with Avskild because of some internal band problems.

ACTUAL BAND:
