Biografia : Strength For A Reason

Strength For A Reason was formed in 1997. The original group included all of the members, except the singer, from Pennsylvania hardcore band, Out To Win (formerly Mushmouth). Karl fronted the band on vocals. SFAR went on to play shows throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas, jumping on at the end of Out To Win's set. After a couple of months, the search began for new and permanent members that would be solely dedicated to the project. Over the course of 8 years, SFAR has become one of Pennsylvania's most well-known and hard-working hardcore bands. They have shared the stage with bands ranging from Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Dying Fetus, Breakdown, Biohazard, and Earth Crisis, to Sick Of It All, Ryker's, Warzone, Madball and many more. SFAR is also featured on many compilations, including "WestCoast Worldwide II" on WCW Records, "Scene Report" on Triple Crown Records, "Call For Unity 3" on Back Ta Basics, "A Tribute To Raybeez and Warzone" on Hate Core Records, "Step To The Plate" on Thornz Records, and the "9/11 NYC Benefit Compilation" on Kentax Records. SFAR was also featured on a 3-way split 7 inch with As They Die and Reach on Back Ta Basics. SFAR released their debut album entitled "Show And Prove" on Thornz Records in January of 2001. They followed with a west coast tour and made their first trip across the ocean in Sept 2004 for a 10 day European tour hitting up Germany, Holland, Belgium and the UK, ending by headlining a sold out Ninjafest, the 2 day fest in London at the famous Camden Underworld. SFAR most recently released their brand new record "Blood, Faith, Loyalty" on Spook City Records (USA) and Burial Records (Europe). SFAR returned to Europe in Oct 2005 to rock Germany, Belgium, and London in celebration of the new record release.
