Samandriel is a 5-piece, female-fronted melodic heavy metal band based out of Edmonton, Canada. Founded in 2008 by guitarist Oskar Jankovic and bassist Ryan Hopper, and settling into it's current lineup in December 2009, the band features theatrical vocals, rhythmic dexterity, a powerful dramatic atmosphere, and was also nominated at the 2010 Alberta awards for best live performance.
The debut release “Awakening” is a self-produced EP featuring six tracks penned and arranged by Samandriel. The disk was mastered at Hansen Studios by Jacob Hansen, and has been featured on radio/zines in Canada, as well as a sampler disk from the acclaimed ProgPower USA Festival in Atlanta.
