Sometimes they come again...and as it is in this rare case, we welcome these four guys. Underneath the empty cheers, in the darkness of "Reunions in Metal" there is this true jewel on its way! Rawhead Rexx are Jürgen Volk, ex-vocalist par excellence of GLENMORE..., Rüdiger Fleck six string wizard of the LETTER X fame, skinsman Dany Löble formerly of HÖLLENHUNDE and GLENMORE and last but not least Face who took care of the low end as bass player in the creative rock formation EROTIC JESUS. An experienced bunch that simply got fed up rehearsing in their own basements.
"We had to go out to see the fans again" says Jürgen Volk, "live on stage and on CD". Already after the first few rehearsals "the spark of creation" flew and was captured on their home recording machines. "Everything melted together as if it was meant to be" reminisces Rüdiger Fleck, "we all have the same wavelength on the musical as well as the personal level, “we are having tremendous fun to rock once more". According to this motto the music shoots out of the speakers. Pure Metal, raw, hard and wild. Rawhead Rexx is not out to embellish their music too much with distractions but rather capture the feel of heavy precision, far away from the monotonous staccato sounds of their contemporaries. Modern arrangements mingle with crisp riffs and monster beats. The songs are full of surprises and capture the listener with ease; not one track is alike, and amidst this blaze of fresh air stands Jürgen Volks melodious vocals, which were responsible for the rise of GLENMORE above the masses. “Rawhead Rexx is not too font of the self loving, progressive style of metal music”, says Face...and you know he means it! “The metal fans out there have to have as much fun as we do...end of quotation!”

This kind of musical power identifies itself through their name Rawhead Rexx. But behind RAWHEAD.REXX is a concept, based half on fiction inspired by a monster and half on reality, portrait by a human being. These two characters make the lyrics and will furthermore represent the art work for our album covers. "As one of my favourite memories that I have, was my first visit to a metal show, full of effects and plenty of action on stage" recalls Dany. A steady decline of such events in recent years. "We want to go back to the visual showmanship, give the fans not only ear candy but also provide a feast for their eyes”.

These four guys saw nearby all aspects of being a professional musician, with their ex-bands, and various productions, from elaborate to low budget, gigs in small and big venues with such acts as SAGA, SAXON, METAL CHURCH, BODY COUNT or MANIC STREET PREACHERS, to the frustrations and joy of being a performing rocker. All in all the fascination and the bullshit of the music biz. "A good basis for the future", says Jürgen Volk. "We now know what to look for and what it takes, we won't drift off curse but constantly push Rawhead Rexx forward. The past years where dedicated solemnly to their studies and to refine their skills on their instruments among working on other projects, simply but they did not waste time! Dany and Face attended three years the distinguished academy of music in Zürich, Rüdiger Fleck honed his art at Paul McCartneys school in Liverpool two years in a row.

After releasing their very successful debut - album “Rawhead Rexx” and playing lots of live gigs (a.o. a Tour with ANNIHILATOR, a Tour with SAXON and a lot of Festival gigs) the guys just finished the mixing on their new album which is called “Diary in black”. The album was mixed in ANDY DERIS' (Helloween) “Mi Súeno Studio” in Teneriffa by Charly Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HALFORD, HELLOWEEN) and will be released on March 17th.
