Biografia : Rammstein

Rammstein formed in 1994, initiated by Richard Kruspe, followed by Christoph Schneider, Oliver Riedel, Paul Landers, Flake Lorenz, and Till Lindemann respectively.
In 1995 they signed a record deal with Motor Music/Polygram and then began production on their debut album, “Herzeleid.” The first single, “Du Riechst So Gut,” was released in August, and the CD itself was put out one month later. In January of the next year the second single, “Seemann,” was released. The members of Rammstein wanted American director David Lynch to work on one of their videos, not having the time, but liking their sound he put “Heirate Mich” and “Rammstein” on the soundtrack to his upcoming movie, “Lost Highway.” It was this break that introduced Rammstein to much of America. In November they headed back into the studio to begin work on their second album, “Sehnsucht.” The first single, “Engel,” was released in April of 1997 and debuted on the charts at number twelve. In less than two months the single reached gold status. “Du Hast,” the second single from the yet to be released album was put out in July. Sehnsucht was released in August of 1997, debuing at number one.

All of the members used to play in punk bands except for Oliver who used to be a member of a folk music band.
