Biography : Pacto De Sangre (PR)

Style: Pacto de Sangre's style has been defined by many influences that goes from Rock & Commercial Metal all the way through Death & Progressive Metal, having its biggest influences in 80's Heavy Metal. This special quality has been very well accepted by this generation's metalheads, contrary to what one would believe...

Genre: The most adequate classification would be Power Metal with strong Speed Metal and Thrash influences.

Origin & History: Pacto de Sangre was born around 1996 in Carolina, Puerto Rico under the name of "Plenitud", when Eliezer Robles (director and 2nd guitar), after 2 drug overdoses, decided to do something to alert others about the risks of drug use, among other things, and with help of his brothers Mizael (bass & growling voice) & Carlos (drums), Plenitud (the bands first name) was born. Félix Guzmán was then added to the line up to do the main guitars and finally the former singer Luis Vila.

A few Years later another band appeared with the same name of Plenitud, so it was changed to Pacto de Sangre. Héctor García (METALOMAN) then enters to to replace Luis Vila on vocals and added some high pitched Queensryche/Dickinson like vocals (as some has said) to complete the final line up of the band, at least for the recording of the Demo/EP and a full CD...

In September, 2002, the band released their first studio quality Demo/ EP called "Arrepientete" with previews of the songs De Verdad, Arrepiéntete & Holy Ghost been these rough releases from the recording sessions of the upcoming album.

Pacto de Sangre then got some good fame all around and opened and co-headlined some mayor concerts in the island with bands like Rob Rock, Bride, All That I Bleed & Rivera Bomma among others. Finally on December 2003 their full CD called "Alerta" came out selling thousands copies locally in less than 5 months and with no airplay at all, which is considered a real record for a band of this nature (been them Christians and Metal at the same time)... A record that was broken some years later by the secular local band Dantesco, with whom Pacto de Sangre has shared the stage many times.

After a few years, and for personal reasons the Robles brothers left the band. Mizael joined the international Power-Prog Metal band Rivera Bomma and then Carlos and Eliezer left to form the local band Martus together with former Pacto de Sangre singer Luis Vila. Sama enters to substitute Mizael on bass, Félix "Pitbull" Castro replaces Carlos on drums, Emilio "Millo" Rodríguez replaces Eliezer on the 2nd guitar and Félix Guzmán ended up as the new director of the band.

By February 2005, Pacto de Sangre made it #18 on the "Loud Charts" of the ACMJ, which is the Christian equivalent to the well known Billboard..

Then more opportunities came in with bigger bands such as Stryper, in which Pacto de Sangre opened the show, been the first time for the band on a big stadium stage and it all was a real success. Another excellent opportunity came in to co-headline for Metal Blade's Jacob's Dream and was confirmed, but the concert was cancelled at last minute and is expected to be presented on October 2006.

After several gigs, Millo and Pittbull leaves the band to pursue other interests like pastor studies and other musical projects and were replaced by Gregory Alvey on 2nd and lead guitars and Elísamuel "The Reaper" on drums, both formerly from the well respected local band After Omega. A keyboard is then added and Arnaldo "The Kid", a very young, but very talented musician, that plays the keys as well as the drums, comes in to complete the actual lineup of the band and the sound ends up way more mature and defined as ever.

The second production is on pre-production stage. It will have more than 10 songs and we expect it to feature a Bonus live video (Video CD). It will also have a more defined Power Metal style, blended perfectly with good old Speed Metal/ Thrash. Contrary to the first production that had many styles but in different songs of their own, this time this two styles (Thrash and Power Metal) are blended together in all the songs in a very subtle and natural way, giving Pacto de Sangre a definitely unique signature to their style. This new production is a conceptual one and will be called "The Days of Egypt". The main theme of this production is a "Trilogy" by the same name of the CD and it's songs 1) "Enslaved", 2) "Chosen One" and 3) "Powerful Wonders" tells the story of the Hebrew people since the beginning of their 400 years of enslavement under the yoke of the Egyptian empire, all the way to it's freedom by God through the hand of Moses. Other songs that are tentatively set for the new production are; the band's theme "Pacto de Sangre", the apocalypticals "Torrential Darkness" and "Behold the Horsemen", the killer power ballad "Volando Alto", "Chosen One II (Shepherd of a Black Sheep Herd)", "Remember", the speedy "Metal Command", "Scared" that tells the story of the prodigal son from the psychological perspective of the son that went away and then came back and the controversial "Mensajero del Mal" (Messenger of Evil) which deals with the topic of those abused in the youth by a Minister, Pastor or Priest, also from the psychological perspective of a victim that really loves God but does not understand why such a thing could happen to "him"... It will have a lot more material in English as you can see.

The band expects to get into the studio very soon to record this long awaited essential production.
