Biography : Oblivion AD

Oblivion A.D. was formed in the late 1990's in Hickory North Carolina. The original line up included Steve Young Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals, Tim Young Bass, Mark White Drums and backing vocals, Mark Kossaba Lead Vocals. The debut album Generation Damnation was recorded at Audio Lab Productions and released on the independent label of HiBoy Records in 2001. The album recieved good reviews in many local and national media sources, including Hit Parader Magazine. In Hit Parader the album review gave Oblivion AD and Generation Damnation higher marks than many well established nation acts of the time releasing albums, including the Scorpins. Steve Young on Lead Guitar was highly praised and compared to the playing of well know guitarist Zack Wylder. According to the HiBoy Records and Audio Lab Productions the album has sold several thousand copies. During the first several years after the release of this album the band toured the southeastern United States mainly in North and South Carolina headlining clubs and small to medium size outdoor venues, occassionly serving as an opening act for well established national bands such as Corosion of Conformity and Molly Hatchet. On the Stregnth of regional popularity and Album sales the band was approached for a contract with Road Runner Records, but a deal was never reached. A major reason for the band not signing with Road Runner Records was the reluctance of some band members for a tour of Germany. Shortly after this event Mark Kossaba and Mark White left the band. Founding member Steve Young hired Sean Frye as the new lead singer of the band in 2003 and after audition several drummers hired "Oakey" as the new drummer. In 2005 the band was back in the studio begining work on a new album and played a few shows from 2005-2007 trying out the new material. In 2007 "Oakey" left Oblivion AD to join another band. The original bass player Tim Young also left and was replaced by Mikey Davis formerly of the Vampire Dust Bunnies. Sean Frye an accomplished drummer as well as front man became the new drummer making the band a 3 man format. As of summer of 2009 the second album is near comlpetion, a release date of late 2009 early 2010 is planned, as well as, a tour beginning in late 2009.
