The band was established in June 96 as Melankolia, and recorded a theatrical soundtrack in 1997 called "Dejaniry". Later that year 2 tracks appeared on a compilation called "Metal Against Racial Prejudice". AFter several line-up changes in 1998, the band changed its name to Naamah. 1999 The band in five-person line up records their first demo-CD called "Magia" ("The Magic") in June. That CD includes intro and four tracks of atmospheric doom/gothic metal. Late that year Marcin Smolen leaves the band and is replaced by Mikolaj "Yeti" Szalkowski on guitar and his brother Krzysiek (keyboards). 2000 New backing vocalist and violinist, Marta Frakstein, joins the band. In August the recordings of the new CD begin. This full album is being recorded at DBX Studio in Warsaw and is simply called "Naamah". At the end of the year drummer Tomek Grochowski leaves the band. Krzysiek Szalkowski takes his place. The Group is looking for a new keyboard player. 2001 Naamah is records two songs for the compilation "Ursynowski Rock" (containing songs performed by bands from southern Warsaw). Drums and keyboard parts are being recorded by Krzysiek. New keyboard player Darek joins the band in March, but he leaves a few months later. Eventually Adam Szewczyk becomes the new keyboard-wizard in the band. More line-up changes occur as Marta leaves the band. 2002 Naamah enters DBX Studio once again in February. The recording session for a new album "Ultima" begins. Marta Frakstein appears as a guest. In the summer Naamah performs on "Voyage 51" - First Polish Progressive Music Festival. Later on the band signs a deal with Metal Mind Productions. 2003 At 28.01.03 "Ultima" hits the stores. One track from this album can also be found on "Dark Stars" compilation CD. In June the band tours with The Gathering. At the very end of the year "Eternal Fear" appears on "In Goth We Trust" - a gothic/industrial/metal compilation. 2004 The band records a demo version of the new album. Krzysiek joins death metal band Gortal and - as the session drummer - death/grind Pyorrhoea. A month later the recordings of the new album begin. The CD named "Resensement" is recorded in "Serakos" Studio, by Magda & Robert Srzedniccy. In March the album is being mastered by Grzegorz Piwkowski and is ready to release, which happens in April During the career Naamah has played with many bands - some popular and some unknown.
