Mephisto (USA)'s biography

Mephisto’s goal since day one has been to create black metal that screeches darkness and screams brutality, while still being free to explore all of the other genres of metal that interest them.

The beginnings of Mephisto lay in August, 2003. Valafar had just quit the black metal band, Midnight Mass. A couple months later, Valafar received a call from Astaroth, who was responding to Valafar’s ad for a Black Metal drummer.

Valafar soon went to hear Astaroth play and was blown away by his abilities as a drummer. Immediately Valafar knew that Astaroth was the drummer he was looking for. After a few practices, Astaroth brought Rahovart over to play bass, and thus, the core of Mephisto was born.

In the following years, Mephisto saw two rhythm guitarists come and go until December 2005 when the band received an e-mail from Lord Temptation (Valhom) asking if Mephisto still needed another guitarist. Lord Temptation auditioned for the band in late December and was officially hired in January 2006.
