Biografie : Infernal (COL)

One of the first black metal bands to emerge from the violent Colombian lands under the idea of majestic fire, its headleader. The band started to play in 1994 under the influence of some nordic bands like Dark Throne and Mayhem manly, making an great impact in the local scene; In the beginning the band was called Culto Infernal and all its lirics were in spanish. In those days Culto Infernal was playing in live with some local bands attracting the attention of countless underground metal fans around Colombia; One year later the band was broken up because of some problems, however its headleader Majestic Fire went on composing songs and working on old and modern ideas to create something original; That's how some years after Majestic Fire decided that INFERNAL should emerge from the deepest of his impure mentality. Isthat joined the band to play the drums and so they two composed 5 powerful songs which were recording at J.J. Studios In Medellin and subsequently released by Colombian label TRIBULACION PRODUCTIONS in 1997. This first demo called "An hymn in the sinister storm" surprised by the cold atmosphere and dark feeling, so many fanzines, distributors and labels began to show some interest in INFERNAL and many copies were sent abroad; Some months later Isthat left the band for personal reasons and just after it, Majestic fire found 2 members for INFERNAL, Diego Lopez (Drummer) and Oscar Urrego (Bass player) who had played for some death metal bands before: so that their experience and talent for music supposed an important point in this Infernal new stage. On year later, Infernal had finished 5 new songs in the same vein as the previous recording, more faster, intense and overwhelming, So The full-length album was recording at the same place and released by the same label in 1998, it's entitled "The new Dawn" and contains 5new songs and other 5 old songs from its demo which were recorded again specially for this album. "The new Dawn " could say it's a truly masterpiece, because it mix primitive and contemporary black metal elements in original way, and it was composed in such way that you can imagine some unknown and exotic places where a malignant force waits for us; The new Dawn comes and we must be prepared!

Some month later Oscar Urrego left the band for personal reason, happily it wasn't a big problem because Juan Garcia appeared to replace Oscar soon, At that time the name of Infernal began to be recognized as a one of the most important and outstanding Colombian bands by all people involved in the underground; So the band started to travel around Colombia continously, also Ecuador, playing in different cities and making outstanding concerts. Majestic Fire began to search for new ideas and a fresh sound and a great idea came into his mind, it was a tribute to the legendaries and dissapeared bands of the 80's decade like: Buldozer, The Exorcist, Possessed and many others which were, are and will be fountain of inspiration for all metal maniac bands, so "Whipping the sacred law" was released by TRIBULACION PRODUCTION one more time in 1999, consolidating Infernal as a one of the main Colombian bands and spreading its name in U.S.A and Europe. Some months after two small Colombian labels from Cali - Colombia called DARK REBELLION and A.Y.M.S offered a 7ep for Infernal, so this idea comes true in few months and "Majestic fire" was released sucessfully, it contains a new song entitled majestic fire and a song taken from their second album "unholy war god". At that time INFERNAL had been listened so much in European countries like Germany and France mainly, and was the french label LEGION OF DEATH RECORDS which showed a great interest in Infernal and offered a split lp with INQUISITION, so INFERNAL six month later entered to studio again and recorded 4 new songs, more a new version of majestic fire for this split lp which there should have been released long time ago, but unfortunately there were some problems with Inquisition and for this reason THY ANTICHRISTH has filled its place now, this split lp will be between THY ANTICHRISTH and INFERNAL definitively; Its entitled " Satan
Rules" and its a majestic sound made with dark and mystic feeling. One change would come later, when Infernal was invited to play in The DRAKKAR FESTIVAL, which took place in Marseille - France 2001, Infernal headleader Majestic fire decided to travel alone to France convinced of the power of Infernal on stage, for this purpose Majestic fire had 2 french musician, after that, Majestic fire traveled to Spain to settled definitively there, So, a new Infernal stage was started, In 2002 Majestic fire met two great Spanish musicians. Phlegethon (Drummer) and F. Trych (Bass player) who joined Infernal to consolidate the current line-up. In 2003 INFERNAL has finished its last recording and perhaps its biggest masterpiece! which's called "A Tragedy Called Existence". This same year, an American label called "THE FLAWLESS TEAM" has released a compilation album entitled "Infernal Compendium" which includes the two first albums of Infernal in one cd. Recently the band has signed to SYLPHORIUM RECORDS from Colombia to release its full-lenght "A Tragedy Called Existence" album which is planed to come out in early august or september this year, a true masterpiece only for the black metal elite.

As a latest news we must say INFERNAL has also signed to MIGHTY HORDES PRODUCTIONS, label which has recently released a split-cd with EXELSUS DIABOLI, which contains 6 tracks of "A Tragedy Called Existence" album. This release is making a relevant impact in many metalheads around the world, as usual Infernal is satisfying them, but wait you for its full-lenght album, none of Infernal fans will be disappointed, it's for sure, because INFERNAL has written, is writing and will go on writing the biggest pages on this rocky and cruel road.
