Биография : Ill Fares The Land

IFTL started out in 1997 as a metalcore band called Heretic. Some shows were done but nothing is released under this name. Due to some line-up changes and technical/musical progression, there was a development towards death metal. Along with these other influences, also came an other name : IFTL was born. In 1999 the first demotape was recorded at the Dyprins studio (Borgloon, Belgium) and is called 'Souls Aground On The Reefs Of Sin'. The demo consists out of 6 mid-tempo death metal songs. 300 copies were sold (the tape is not available anymore, but you can download it at Lugburz.be) aand there was a good response from some authoritative metal zines in the Benelux. Due to these good reactions, the demand for shows became bigger. Also some underground labels showed interest in the band. After some negotiating IFTL signed at Uxicon Records for one MCD, which saw daylight 3 years after the demo. The MCD was baptized 'Nonentity' and contains 6 songs which are faster and far more brutal and technical than the demo-songs. This MCD was recorded at De Studio (Asse, Belgium) and has a filthy but clear and powerful sound. ‘Nonentity' also received great reviews from the international metal underground (some Nonentity reviews can be read at our website). More shows followed (the lack of a bassplayer didn't stop us from performing) and IFTL received a good live reputation. Some bassplayers were recruited at this time, but they all left us before their first gig with IFTL. Finally, in October 2004, we found a suitable bass-molester in Nick. At the same time though, Uxicon Records quitted because of personal reasons. So now, anno 2005, IFTL is a five piece band without a label, but still with the same goal: to make decent, aggressive, varied and technical death metal. Nothing more, nothing less…
