Biography : Hexenhammer (GER)

The band was formed in 1999 as a three-piece project of bass player Ingo Kuhoff and the then members Andreas Klapper (Guitars) and Jürgen Langner (Drums). Due to musical differences Jürgen left the band at the end of 1999 and was replaced by Daniel Steigüber, who was then still member of Ephel Duath and Necrophobia. In October 2000 the first demo "Deathfuck Autopsy" was recorded in the rehearsal place and the limited amount of 100 pieces were rapidly sold. Frank Hürland, bass player of Ephel Duath, did the vocals for the first demo. At the end of 2000 Christian Gubernat entered the band, which opened up many new possibilites for song writing. Andreas left the band early 2001 due to a busy study-related schedule. In May 2001 the band was completed with Maik Hoffmann (formerly of Nocturnal Desire). The band could finally work on new material, of which the songs were recorded in November 2002 and released as a mCD at the end of January 2003. As the year went on the band played several shows, and at the same time the members were working on new material During the winter of 2003 the band went into Westwood Studio in Paderborn to record new tracks, which were mixed and mastered in the months that followed. In April the band played a show with Vader, but in the rest of the year also with Symphorce, Hate Squad and Tankard. In November of 2004 the band signed a deal with Twilight for 2 records, and that label released the debut album of the band, „Divine New Horrors“, in February 2005.
