Helmet was an alternative metal band, formed in 1988 New York by frontman Page Hamilton (vocals, guitars), Peter Pengede (guitars), Henry Bogdan (bass), John Stanier (drums). The members has since then been moving to a side projects after he band broke up in 1998.
But was once again the current status of the band is active again while they were resurrected in late 2003 and released a compilation album Unsung: Best Of Helmet (1991-1997) and also have a first new album Size matters which will be out in October 2004.

In November 2005 the band parted ways with their label Interscope Records following the disappointing sales performance of their latest CD, "Size matters", which came out in October 2004.
