Biografia : Hellfire (CHL)

Born in Santiago, Chile, the genesis of the band starts in the early 90's, with a few rehearsal sessions between Ricardo Guajardo and Christian Hernandez (drums and guitar/voice respectively). Bernardo joined them later, so they became a trio. The excitement brought them to a point where they had to add a bass player due to the complexity of the compositions, and later a new singer, which made Hellfire a quintet.

The main idea on which Hellfire was formed was to recreate the hardest and most brutal European thrash metal, like Celtic Frost, Sodom, Destruction, Kreator and Death. The idea was to recover the easy and powerful compositions that nurtured Thrash Metal from its beginning. Bored of Death Metal (in vogue during those days) and the same monotonous and 'noisy' riffs, they decided to take the harder road...to go against the flow.

It was 1990 and Hellfire made its debut as a band in the gigs organized by "Barata" and his "Ocultismo Zine' in the Sala Lautaro. Five shows in total, with a good reception, they wrapped up the year with a show in the disappeared "Estadio Manuel Plaza". That very same year, their first demo "The other apocalypse" is recorded in a very amateur way.

The band worked very hard in 1993 to record "Rehearsal 93", which finally happened that same year. The record has five tracks that cover all their history, from Hellfire's beginnings until the newest works. Unfortunately, by the end of 1993, the band split.

After 5 years of silence, Bernardo Mora, Ricardo Guajardo and Rodrigo Carrillo decided to start the Hellfire Project over, but the efforts had no results because in April 2000, Rodrigo Carrillo left the band to pursue personal projects.

In 2004, Hellfire becomes a quintet again and records the "Advance promo 2004 -- 2005", work that includes part of the old material and new tracks that were created with the lineup the band had at the time.

In 2006 Hellfire becomes a quartet again with the comeback of Chris Hernandez, founder member of the band, as bass player and singer, and they started working on new tracks for their debut CD. From this work, the singles "Trust Went Hell" and "Killed by the Axe" (2006) and "Decapitation" (2007) were released, and prepared the way for the new CD that was launched in November 2007.

The first homonymous CD by "Hellfire" includes new material composed from the moment the band finally got consolidated as a quartet; there are only 2 tracks that come from the old material.
