Somewhere in the winter of 2009 Keenan Oakes and Dylan Viljoen decided to form a stripped down, to the point, cliché embracing pissed off project, culminating in an ode to their favourite Rock-based Black Metal bands. Jason Jardim came along for the ride in early 2010, then Jesse Navarre Vos in October of the same year. .. Since becoming a 4-piece, the band has evolved, opening their musical (playing) palettes to even more Metal and Rock subgenres. The sound can be summed up (for those genre discerning nerds) as: Epic and Melodic Rock based Atmospheric Black Metal. With a music video and a debut full-length album in the works, Heathens is set to take on South Africa, and then the world. .. .. Let the ignorant world know our name.. And the Metal in our hearts forever remain!!
