Hannover was always a great stomping ground for high quality Metal and Hard Rock. Bands known all over the world, such as Scorpions, MSG and Victory emerged from this ancient town in the early 80s and went out and conquered the world. Twenty years later and Hannover has produced a new generation of musicians hoping to achieve the same kind of success. From the remnants of the local heroes, Serpent Moves, notably in the form of Carsten Frank (vocals), Dirk Zelmer (bass) and Arnd Lorenz (drums) formed GALLOGLASS in 1999. In Kai Mühlenbruch (ex-Desolation) and Norbert Geiseler (ex-Progeria) on the guitars they soon found suitable bandmates.
Within two weeks they had their first 3 track demo CD ("Dragons Revenge", "Kings Who Die" and "Crusade Of The Damned"), which caused a sensation amongst fans and press alike. No wonder, GALLOGLASS" fast, melodic Power Metal truly soundslike a perfect synthesis of old German speed metal à la Helloween with Kai Hansen or early Blind Guardian, and the earlier works of Helstar and Fates Warning. The record companies pricked up their ears, contract offers flew to and fro but the band finally decided to sign with Limb Music Products.
After successfully completing their live debut, nothing stood in the way of recording their debut album. "Legends From Now And Nevermore" was produced under the professional and experienced guidance of Olaf Reitmeier (Luca Turilli, Gun Barrel, Kamelot). The material was recorded in both the Wolfsburg Gate Studio and the local Hunting-Ground Studio. Songs such as the hymn-like "Dragons Revenge", the middle-aged themed "A Wintertale", the epic Remember The Fire and the fast title track underline the Hannoverians" clear preference for powerful melodies and well thought out song structures with no reference at all to today"s standard clicheés. In addition, the fantastic guitar work of the 6-string duo of Kai Mühlenbruch and Norbert Geiseler and the vocal performance of Carsten Frank - certainly one of Germany"s best young talents - are simply superb.
