Biografia : Forcible

Forcible is a trashband from Ypres that exists for two years and a half now. It was erected in 1997. Phil, Math and Idea already played together in a band called “Embrionic”, but they were looking for another drummer. When Mike, an enemy of the three in those days, asked for a sollicitation, they consented as they knew Mike was a terrific drummer. The first contacts elapsed stiffly, but they made their first song in some weeks: "Charge of Injustice". From then on, Forcible was born.

The average age of the bandmembers is nineteen. They are promising and ambitious and their powerful, melodious riffs are the result of weekly rehearsals and discussions. “We're actualy making music and we try not to participate in some trend,” says bassist Math. Guitarist Idea echoes Math's sentiment. “I think we're not that kind of band that makes music just for fun. We work for weeks on one song and yet we're not always satisfied. All four of us have to agree, which isn't simple.” In that way, it creates more room for experimentation, Mike affirms.

Forcible has been doing a number of gigs. They played in the “Night of the 1001 Salamanders”-festival, among Spineless and Eden. Beside that, they played as a supporting act of Congress on “Young Talent on Scene” (a local talent-seeking) and made a favourable impression on a gig in Ghent.

On August 27th 1998, Forcible finally went to “Dé Studio” in Asse, Belgium, where the best tracks were recorded. On September 6th, everything was mixed. The result is a 6-track demotape. As this is their first studio-experience, there are a few technical shortcomings here and there.

Since then nothing changed actually. Forcible has been doing a number of gigs in and around Ypres, but right now they're concentrating on a couple of new songs, from whom the riffs are even more powerful, heavier and melodious. “I learnt how to make a good riff, haha,” says Idea, the main responsible for the delivery of new material. “We don't rehearse all together anymore, ‘cause that was an enormous waste of time. Mike and me, we make the skeleton and then all four of us try to give it a skull.”
Together with this new songs, Forcible started a new chapter. Now they've got some experience, they turned into the more progressive way.
Forcible doesn't seem to record a new “official” demo in the next few months, but you'll certainly hear about them in the future…

See ya somewhere at one of their gigs, in a pub, or anywhere else... , but remember...

KEEP THE FORCE!
