Biography : Emeth

It all started out as a nameless project back in October 1997 by some friends who weren't completely happy with the bands they played in. After some months of rehearsing it started getting serious and the decision was made to stay together as a band. From that day Emeth was born. Various extreme metal influences were integrated in the songs and Emeths music was more deathcore orientated. In 1998 the band did a low budget recording which resulted in the first official demo release: THE CALL OF SIREN. Quickly after this release the band was contacted by Screech Rec. which is responsible for the released 7 Ep: Breathing The Unclean. A second demotape DISCIPLE was released in 1999. Due to musical differences at that time the band parted ways with most of its original members. Since march 2001, a new but steady formation saw daylight when ex-Necrodochion drummer Tom A. aligned Matty (guitar) & Tom K. (vox). Although the name EMETH was kept a new band was born with this line-up change. To completely redefine the band's musical direction the revamped line-up immediately started writing new material. The music evolved to a new level of intensity due to a more sophisticated approach, embodying relentless churning guttural vocals on shredding guitars and cataclysmic drumming. At the end of 2002 the band decided to record a half hour of music in a pro-studio which would be used to promote the band and to get an official record deal. In order to attain this goal the band started looking for a studio, a lay-out designer,... that would perfectly display what Emeth stands for. Self-confident to get a heavy but yet defined sound that would have enough balls and drive without sacrificing the bands intricate detailed music the band entered in September 03 the Excess studios in Rotterdam (Holland) to record its first full length Insidious. After a few months of negotiating with several labels the band finally agreed to ink a 2-cd deal on BRUTAL BANDS. The Insidious -cd was officially released on 30th june 2004. Immediately after the release of the band played on numerous very known underground festivals (Obscene Extreme, Deathmetal.Be fest). And even extended the reach of their skullcrushing music through a US tour in august 2004 headlined by Internal Suffering. This tour covered almost entire North America and Emeth shared the stage with death metal institutions as Brodequin, Lust of Decay, Gorgasm, Mutilated, Lividity, Incantation... In July 2005 guitarist Peter Goemare was added to the line up as a second 7-string wizard. This line up works perfectly with the music and adds an extra dimension of undiluted power to the overall sound and rounds up what Emeth has become known for: Extreme Belgian Sickness and Unrelenting Blasting Brutality. Ever since the release of Insidious the band has been asked for numerous appearances at festivals and gigs throughout entire Europe. During July and August 2005 Emeth once again aligned with Colombias leading death metallers Internal Suffering for a string of dates throughout Southern US and stages are shared with resounding death metal outfits like Disgorge, Decrepith Birth, Severed Saviour, Skinned, Odious Mortem... After nearly 1,5 years of frequent live shows Emeth entered the Excess Studio once more in november 2005. The band recorded their highly anticipated second full album entitled: Reticulated. This time the band worked with none other than Producer Daniel Bergstrand (Behemoth, Meshuggah, In Flames...). To ensure a top notch production the mixing was done at the Dug Out studios and the mastering at the Cutting Room in Sweden during januari 2006. Artwork and lay-out was again in the mighty hands of Svencho for Dirge Design. Shortly after the release of this second slab of extreme psychoticism Emeth performed at several summer festivals (Neurotic Deathfest, Bringer of Death Fest, Deathmetal.Be Death Fest) and even went to Israel to deliver some devastating Extreme Belgian Sickness.

This highly anticipated slab of Extreme Belgian Sickness is a state-of-the-art assault upon your sanity! Psychotic sonic relentlessness delivered at a decimating pace to push the human mind beyond it's limits of endurance. Wrapped in a furious world-class production courtesy of Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir...) this album sets the rules for extreme death metal for the new millennium.
