Embalmed formed in spring of 1999 by Panos (guitars), Kostas S. (guitars), Kostas T. (vocals/bass) and Thanos (drums). The reason was to play furious death/black metal in the veins of Bolt Thrower, Amon Amarth, Unleashed and Behemoth.

After a short time, Petros V. took the place behind the drumkit and the band continued to to rehearse with this line up for about two years. Although nothing been produced, many ideas born and the band started to realize its course.

In spring of 2002, Embalmed split up due to musical differences and the two remaing members, Panos (guitars) and Kostas T. (vocals/bass) recruited Lazaros (drums) from the local band Crystallized just to enter the studio and record their self-released debut CD titled "Scattering the Ashes of War", featuring eight bombastic tracks of war death metal with many influences but many personnal elements as well. The material had great response considering the fact that it was addressing to a short audience and things have been done very quickly to have an apropriate result.

Once more, the band split up to reform again with two guitars this time and separate bass player. The three new members came from Code of Silence (Yannis L. : guitars, Yannis H. : bass, Makis D. : drums).

After a short period, Embalmed played live for the very first time in a small venue in front of friends. Distance difficulties and obligatory military service kept the group idel for a long time until 2005 when we started rehearsals for the second album titled "Chaos Reborn", viewing the music from a different perspective and writing brand new tracks.

Curse remained as the three last members decided to split ways and the band seemed to have reached the end.

So, when all faith has gone Lazaros found his way back and having a great experience as the drummer for Enshrine, Obsecration, Soulless and others, filled the puzzle pefectly. As a result, the band wrote new stuff from the ashes of the old, and makes a hard effort to reclaim its past, hopefully with some live performances and a steady line-up this time... the world is ours to define...
