EIBON is a French doom/sludge act featuring Drowning''s bass player Stephane and guitarist Georges on vocals. Also part of the band is Jerome on drums, former Stephane's band mate in legendary doom-metal French pioneer Garden of Silence. Jerome's also been part of doom veterans Astral Rising. The line-up is completed by long-time friend Max on guitars.
In summer '06, EIBON recorded 2 tracks for a split-CD released on extreme metal label Bones Brigade Records. The other band sharing the bill is stoner freaks HANGMANS'S CHAIR (former Es la Guerilla). The split-CD has been released in March '07 and critics have been really good so far.
This first effort gives already what EIBON all about: somewhere between Sludge and Doom, the music is based on progressive structures, alternating pounding heavy riffs, melodic moments and hell-unleashed passages.
EIBON has already hit the stage several times to play the tracks recorded for the CD along with yet unreleased songs. Each time, the band received fairly enthusiastic response from the audience.
