Biography : Dr Hasbeen

Founded in 1995 by space rock aficionado Martyn Needham (later Hasbeen) they made the first steps under the moniker SPACE BANDITS. Searching for some comrade-in-arms the line-up was completed by Daz Fletcher (guitar), Sue Annable (drums, vocals) and Jake Billington (bass). 1997 finally renamed to DR HASBEEN the band started to record Hawkwind styled space rock songs and toured the UK where the performances included visual events featuring lightshows, dancers and jugglers.

1998 saw the first self-released CD-Rs 'Prophetic Obscurities' and 'Spirit Of Brock' until the line-up changed and Paul Boers (drums), Mr. Dibs (synths) and Mark Lee (vocals) entered the spaceship. In 2002 DR HASBEEN released the next album consisting of live recordings from the 'Powered By Beer' tour 98/99, later re-issued with some additional live tracks from the year 2000.

'The Alien Within' (2003) folllowed soon featuring Phat Jason on bass and then the band went into hibernation for some years. Mid 2007 brought about a reincarnation to DR HASBEEN and the double album 'Signs' (2008) containing various studio cuts plus live recordings from the past was released by Italian Black Widow label. The current (2009) line-up produced a new album entitled 'Punichment Of Crimes' and is consisting of Martyn Hasbeen, Chadder Needham, Mike (bass), Amy0 (keyboards), Jake Robinson (vocals).
