Biography : Decrepit

DECREPIT was unearthed in November of 1992. After going through a few guitar and bass players, the first solid line up was established: Rob Molzan-vocals (ex-Mutilation), Gino Lambert-guitar (ex-Stagnated), Duane Morris-bass (ex-Mutilation), Chris Dora-drums (ex-Mutilation). In March of 1993 we recorded the "Hymns Of Grief And Pain" demo that sold roughly 1500 copies. In late '93 we added a 2nd guitarist, Tom Rojack (ex-BLOOD OF CHRIST). With Tom in the band we finally completed our sound. Tom added new dynamics with his guitar solos and harmonies. In May of 1994 we recorded 3 tracks, two of which were released on "The Wake" 7" EP released by PSYCHO SLAUGHTER RECORDS. The third track "Pathogenesis" was released that year on a compilation CD done by DROWNED PRODUCTIONS out of Spain. In July of 1994 Duaniac (bass) got the opportunity to play guitar/vocals for INCANTATION, and spent most of 1994/1995 on tour, so Matt Sorg (ex-BLOOD OF CHRIST guitarist) filled in on bass in Duaniac's absence. Sometime in 1995 Duaniac released both the demo and 7" tracks on his label Dismal Records, and continued to promote DECREPIT heavily during his time with INCANTATION. He ended up leaving them during the summer of 1995, to concentrate solely on DECREPIT. Shortly after Duaniac returned to the band, guitarist Gene Lambert decided to leave for personal reasons. Duaniac then switched to guitar, replacing Gene, and Matt Sorg was asked to play bass again. (Matt had recently started his own band FROM THE DEPTHS, but agreed to help us out on the side). In October of 1996 we entered the Mars compound with producer Bill Korecky to record the Acrimonium CD also released on Dismal Records. After 5 years together the band simply dissolved and our members continued on with other projects. Less than a year after the band split, guitarist Tom Rojack died of an alcohol related accident. Between the loss of Tom and our differences of opinion musically, we decided to lay the band to rest .
There were a few "reunion" shows done, one in 1998, a year after Tom's death, in honor of him. We also recorded one last studio track in 1998 entitled "Last Dawn Pt. 1". This was the last song Tom ever wrote before he died. This track will be released soon on a split 7". We also did another reunion show in 2001, as part of a fund raiser/benefit show for Chuck Schuldiner of DEATH.
In 2006 we decided it was time to reform the band. Originally we had all of our "Acrimonium" members with the exception of Rojack. Matt Sorg switched to guitar, taking over Tom's parts, and a new bassist was added to the line-up. Rob Lesniak of Embalmer (ex-NunSlaughter, Dislimb, Necrotic Disgorgement). Sadly through the course of 2007 Molzan, Sorg, and Dora have all left the band either due to personal differences or lack of interest. Duaniac and Lesniak have decided to keep the band going regardless. There is still much to be done and we intend to keep our brand of darkened death metal alive. ....The Bond of Death ...Shall be our Conformity
