Darkest place is one of the best band that Mozambique has, from the high and agressive voices to the fast playing guitar and hard beating drums.
In late October of 2006 a group of young teenagers decided to form up a band. In the beggining It really had no name. But for some reason people started calling them Darkest Place. Although the name was not official by the time. It started off with only Roger, Papito, Zezinho & Gerson. Gerson was the 1st bass player of Darkest Place. The band started off with a good boost always working hard and with their unique styl. They managed to impress many people even before going on stage. Guided by Nightmare A local friendly band decided that Darkest Place where ready to perform on stage. With Only two songs and one month of existance the band already had a concert. The concert was At Franco mocambicano 23 November of 2006. A few minutes before the group went to stage There was a little problem, They didn't have a name yet. So someone just spilled out Darkest Place. And that was the name they were presented as. The name then became official.
The group kept on working hard as always. Afterwards Pinto alo showed up To become the vocals and he passed the test. Darkest PLace was almost complete. As we kept On practicing and making new riffs for songs. We decided the band wasnt complete yet. A female voice was missing. So Roger then called up Marianna to join the band. She gladly Said yes and joined. 6 members now Darkest Place was complete and was ready to work and to reach a whole new level than they were before. We were one of the best bands in the country in a short matter of time. Darkest Place the band of the young teenagers Was rocking the whole crowd upside down and back up again. Everyone just seemed to love the sound They created.
In late november of the year 2008, Darkest Place had found a new guitarist to add to the band, he went by the name of Mike, they met him after he had invited the drummer and guitarist of Darkest to play at a music fest with him...With his skills on guitar, the band knew that he would bring the band to new hights...
Early 2009 Harris had to leave the band because of religious conflicts, wich left the band devistated...so the search was on for a new bassist...a casting was held and we found the perfect bassis to fll Harris's shoes, his name was Rui...the band chose him because of his skill to keep up with the tempo of the song and his skill in learning fast, so now we welcome the new members to the band and they are goin to make sure to do their best to give YOU!! (the fans) the best show you have ever seen...
Unfortunately Mariana had to leave the band in August 2009 to pursue further studies in Portugal which left the band devastated, so the search was on for the new feminine voice, we had a few girls coming in, but the one who stood out was a young girl named Luana, the band chose her because of her voice and her intense creativity...and then we had the departure of our Drumer and Bassist in the end of 2009, so the search was on again, and finally after a month of searching we found replacements, Joelle Matos Former Silent Spirits vocalist and Goro Fast who has gigd with the band before...
