The band was born in Bologna (Italy) in 2004 as an idea of Lorenzo Sighinolfi and Enrico Berti, both guitarists, that with other musicians will form Criminal Side, originally inspired by Metallica and Slayer. In 2006 the band finally finds a stable and tight line-up: Alex Gaiani (now in Disease Illusion) on drums, Sighi leaves his guitar duties (replaced by "Leo" Rella) to concentrate solely on vocals and Lorenzo Truppi (already drummer in a lot of bands) on bass. The band starts writing their own material and performing at various concerts, until they feel the necessity to record their first EP, "Abyss of Humanity" in 2007.

Collaborations with some of the most important bands in Emilia Romagna allow the band to play around the most important venues of the Bolognese area. In 2008 Leo leaves the band for personal reasons, and is replaced by Luca Paolini; between the 2 guitarists a new type of alchemy is born and the band starts writing new material with new influences, thus starting to find their own personality as a band. At the beginning of 2009 Alex leaves the band to dedicate his time to Disease Illusion, and Truppi decides to replace him as a drummer, recruiting Ash Saboori as new bassplayer. Truppi's extreme and technical approach to drumming completes and defines Criminal Side's new style, Thrash/Death with very personal "Arabesque" influences: it is clear that the band needs to go back in the studio to record their second EP "Slaves of Time", which was released on 19 FEB 2010. Now the band is writing new songs!
