Biography : Convergence (AUT)

In summer 2002, Erik and Roman founded Convergence. Without any direct concept about the music style, Erik took the vocal-, bass-, keyboard- and programming-part. Roman who played in the band Zorn did the guitar and the bass. After about six months of work, the first demo "The first approaching" was recorded at Lugermusic Studio.

At this time their style took its first form.

In April 2003, Bjoern joined Convergence as 2nd guitarist. Just one month later, the first official album "Fragments" was recorded, again at Lugermusic Studio. "Fragments" contained the overworked material of "The first approaching" and some new songs that seemed to show the direction in which Convergence would go.

In July 2003, Markus, former member of Vanitas, got session-bass-player of Convergence; he left the band a few months later and was replaced by Patrick who joined the Band as full member in November 2003.

In May 2004, after intensive work on new material, the second official album "Mankind" was recorded. Like the last album "Mankind" has also been recorded at Lugermusic Studio.

In April 2005, Bjoern left Convergence for personal reasons and was replaced by Rainer in early May 2005, who became the new 2nd guitarist of Convergence.

In late Summer 2006, the third album "Metropolis" was recorded. They did it again at Lugermusic Studio. "Metropolis" has been released in December 2006.

February 2007 Rainer decided to leave Convergence. Two months later, former Vanitas guitarist, Christoph replaced Rainer and joined Convergence. The work on new material began.

2008: Christoph decided to leave the band and now we are glad to have found Denis (Dismal-Lumentis), who does a great guitar-job and we look forward to the upcoming album "Observatory" !
