In 2004, Arthur (drums) and Treymor (2nd guitar) join a music project line-up which remain the founding members: Damien (guitars and vocals) and Cerbere (vocals). CALCIFERUM is born, and the composition work begins.
The first compositions were no real musical personality, just a Black Metal touch. So CALCIFERUM write songs and then perform on stage, especially in guest of Pentacle gig, at the Grillen (Colmar/France) in 2006. The critics were not the best, but the band could focus its weaknesses.
Then Makkura (bass) comes up and brings power and depth to the compositions. Substantive work is then engaged. Unfortunately TreYmoR must leave the band and CALCIFERUM decides to keep this line up.
In 2007, the first band's demo was released. "Ancestors History" allows CALCIFERUM to perform on stage and to make known to a french audience. The band shares the scene with especially Balrog, Kathaarsys and Yayeth Corpse.
In 2009, Alex (guitar) joins the band and gives a new dimension to the songs. CALCIFERUM then wants to share his musical progression and decided to release his first EP. The eight self-production songs are recorded and sound more aggressive. “Dirge Of Gjallarhorn” leads to some gigs throughout 2010.
After multiple successes on stage, it becomes necessary for the band to produce a real album. "The Beast Inside" is out since January 2011. Full of eleven brutal and powerful tracks, it sounds definitely Death Metal. Recording and production are directed by "Psyrus Studio”. Now, the band aims to perform in Europe.
