Antiquus Scriptum is a Black Metal project (one man band!!!) arising from the Lusitanian kingdom. Formed in MCMXCVIII by Sacerdos Magus (bass / vocals; ex-Firstborn Evil, ex-Psycoma, ex-The Invertebrate, ex-vocal sessions for Sistematic collision), Asmodeus (guitar; ex-Psycoma, ex-The Invertebrate, ex-Sistemattic collision, ex-Namek, ex-Putregod / Fecal Expiration, ex-Raw, Project Six, Neoplasmah) and Dakonem Drakul (drums; ex-Sistematic Collision). It's an epic tribute to the dark ages and bygone times. The thematics are about historical facts from the age of darkness and subjects that annoy mankind (the terrify thruth!).

The Christianism, the inquisition, prophecies, scourge, iniquity, mithology, depression, solitude, love / hate or even problems related with our nature are presents in the lyrics. Very fast themes, imposing, with vehement and aggressive vocals, cojugated with the sumptuousness of the keyboards and the plunderer (programmed) drums. The sonority reveal influences coming from the nordic Black Metal in it's most extreme form but with some touches of old Thrash, old Death Metal, Viking Metal and Folk. In MCMXCIX was recorded the first live demo "Al - Mahadan MCMXCIX", a 30 min. live gig with Sistematic Collision at the Ponto de Encontro - Almada. This work was released by the Eye of Horus Creations; the Sacerdos Magus demo label in cdr format.

In MM, now as a one man band, was recorded the first studio assault "In Pulverem Reverteris", a 18 min. Work where Sacerdos Magus plays the bass lines, guitars, sequenced the drums, and did the vocal work. The keyboards where done by Gustavo Vieira (ex-Firstborn Evil, ex-The Firstborn, ex-Sword Of Ahkron (Session), ex-Nargothrond (Session), Gustavo Vieira, D.O.M., Sat On The Cat). This work was self released one more time by the Eye of Horus Creations label in demo tape format. In MMII the second studio onslaught "Abi In Malam Pestem" was recorded, now with the guest musician Paulo Vieira (ex-Firstborn Evil, ex-The Firstborn, Nargothrond, ex-Sword Of Ahkron, ex-Collusive, ex-Pestox, D.O.M., Gustavo Vieira (session), Sat On The Cat, Decreto 77), that recorded and mixed both works.

Paulo divided the guitar riffs with Sacerdos Magus and played the lead solos. This demo had the participation of Cláudia Ferreira (WinterMoon) in the mistress voice. It's the first long play demo / album with 40 min. In the year of MMVII, the lusiatian demo label Nekrogoat Heresy Productions, made a re-edition with professional layout in cdr format of the two first studio demos: "In Pulverem Reverteris" and "Abi In Malam Pestem". Thus, after IV years of a tormented silence the project return to studio in MMVII and MMVIII to record the third assault "Immortalis Factus". Once more this work was in the entirety composed by Sacerdos Magus and recorded by Paulo Vieira at the Moshpit and Maddog Studios (Lusitania).

With the same formation of the other works and a very better studio sonority. This demo / album has the vocal participation of Cláudia Ferreira (WinterMoon) and Bruno "Mindwalker" Fernandes (ex-Firstborn Evil, The Firstborn, Nargothrond, ex-We Were Wolves) and percussion of Ricardo Vieira (Time Out, Zero à Esquerda, Sat On The Cat, ex-Pestox, ex-Decreto 77); This work has 69 min. In August MMVIII was released By Demonmusick (Malasia) the compilation Demonic Onslaught Vol. I, where Antiquus Scriptum appears with the track "Abi In Malam Pestem" and as well the Compilation The Legion Of TchorT Vol: III (Peru), including Antiquus Scriptum and the track "O Adamastor".

In November MMVIII was released by Soulsicx Musik (Malasia) together with KVLT 666 Produktion (Malasia) the first best of / compilation of Antiquus Scriptum. "Inner Depression (Syndromes Of Fear)" was the chosen name and includes themes from all the studio works. It's a exclusive limited cdr release for the asian region and maniacs!
Finally, in the very early MMIX, the northern american label Ophiucus Records released the work "Immortalis Factus" as well as the firsts demos "Abi In Malam Pestem" and "In Pulverem Reverteris" in full-lenght format (professional printed cd).
