AGONISTICA saw the light (or the darkness) in Gral. Pico at the end of the year 1995. For that played Death Metal with the name of OPROVIO then.
The premiere live was in February of 1996 with the formation: " Chavon " in Voices, " Jarri " in 1ª Guitar, " Kaos " in rhythmic Guitar, Lucas in Bass, and " Paco " in Battery. This alignment played live in a couple of recitals, and in June of 1996 it registered its first called demo " Sickness ".

Very soon after of recording they suffered their original vocalist's departure, and in their substitution it entered "Hebreo", and with the inclusion of the Keys of Cristian Schneider became sextet.
These changes, and the musical progress went penetrating to the band in the lands of the Gothic, climatic and melodic Doom Metal that it was so in vogue in Europe in those moments with bands like Anathema, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, The 3rd. & mortal the, etc...
with this new formation they played in Santa Rosa in October of 1996, and during the whole rest of the year they were presented in different places to show their proposal, more and more secured.
During the years 1997 and 1998 continued playing in their city and other neighboring towns, but maybe the most significant in this time was the big repercution that " Sickness " had inside the circuit national Under thanks to the diffusion of fanzines. The opriment music of the group arrived to places like Neuquén, Rio Negro, Chubut, Capital Federal, Jujuy, Santiago Del Estero, and even to other countries like Colombia, Chile,Venezuela, Bolivia and Spain. Regrettably the lack of monetary resources made them reject several proposals to play in those places.
In 1999 and 2000 they continued playing and arming new topics, which were presented live in the program of T.V. Rock Al Frente of the tv channel Much Music next to other local bands. They were also presented in two opportunities in the competition of bands Santa Rock, and in spite of not classifying among the winning bands they obtained a very constructive experience.
At the end of 1999 they registered their second and delayed demo The Deepest Perceptions", which didn't reach the prospective results as for the sound quality and diffusion. This, and other facts made shrink the energy of the group, the harmony goes into it broke, and the frustration, the lack of desires and projects to continue ahead took to the breakup from the band to beginnings of 2001, and their members followed different roads in their lives.
8 long years passed so that the band decided to meet and to continue the road behind abandoned time, finally AGONISTICA recaptures the rehearsals in June of 2008 with new members to replace to who could no longer be part of the project. The new formation of the band includes a new vocalist, new bass and new Keys:

-Mauro (Keyboards)

In September of 2008 the return took place finally to the scenarios; first in a recital for a reduced number of fans, and then, at the end of that same month in the festival of heavy metal local Reventon Metalero where the band was rediscovered with the I publish in an unforgettable metal party. At the moment and during the whole month of October the band already has several dates to carry out where it will begin to present new material, the next appointment will be the Domingo October 26 in a next show with local bands in the Club Atlético y Cultural Argentino.
New melancholic compositions, a new illusion and the expectations renovated to face a new stage that will surely be even better.
