Nobody knew that « At The Gates » would redefine the borders of Death Metal in 1994 with their immortal masterpiece “Terminal Spirit Disease”. This album is a mix, incredibly successful, between the power of trash metal, progressive death metal and the Gotheburg scene melody.
Thus, These album singles consist of ear-catching death progressive riffs that alternate marvellously with melodic riffs and some of these hard trash parts perfectly composed. The all take its best shape owed to the arrangement of the Björler bros.
The trash/black voice of Thomas Lindberg is in a perfect suitability with the band’s style and the gloomy atmosphere of the album.
The drums are not very technical since it’s about a progressive death metal, but the drummer do the main thing just to come with the guitar’s playing.
A non-questionable master piece then from the Gotheburg scene that every respectable metal fan should have.
