After Panzer broke apart in april of 2003, Edson Graseffi (drums) wanted to continue with playing music, so he formed a new band. Together with Marcello Ivanov, he formed first lineup and started playing, but in the end, Edson was alone again. After lots of changes, he finally formed new lineup with Pedro Lobão (guitar), Wal (guitar), Leandro Menze (vocals) and Thiago Grogia (bass). First demo-EP was recorded during the november of the same year and is entitled "In Pieces". It features three studio tracks, and beside that this is their first record, they did a very good job! You can feel the experience of these guys - they really know how to play their instruments (and sing). The music of Reviolence could be described as unusual mix of thrash metal and hard rock. Sometimes Leandro growls or screams, but then again he can sing very melodic parts as well. Best example for this is opening track "Zero of Me". It starts off really brutal and fast, with thrashin' riffs, and morphs into metal-like hard-rock with very interesting vocals. It's a dynamic song, always interesting to hear to. If you are looking for some fresh stuff - you will find them here! Second song, "In Pieces", features more death metal oriented verses, while chorus are melodic, but still heavy (thrash/hard rock again). Guitar leads are atmospheric and sometimes you can even hear some doom influences (a la Cathedral). Third and the final one, "Constant Dream", is more like an energetic ballad. Choruses are really powerful. Overall, very good debut release of Reviolence! I can't wait to hear their full-length album...
