Turkey. Death Metal. Female Vocalist. Keyboards.

B.I.N.G.O!

Yep, congratulations! We thought having all four together was virtually impossible! But you guys did it! The winner is Prime Object from... well, we did write it: Turkey.

I'm not a journalist. Journalists get paid to write. My pay as a reviewer for Spirit Of Metal is getting to know various bands that want to have reviews made of their latest stuff. Sometimes if you get lucky and if you have a band that really cares about listeners, the guys will be sending a CD, promo or not, a real one with a leaflet. Sometimes, either the band has not been signed yet or does not have the money to produce a physical stuff and they'll send you a download link and that's fine too. And then you get the third kind of bands. Bands that had mp3s from the start, they may even have a physical copy of the CD but hell! That'd be way too easy.

Please write me a review from the tracks of our Myspace...

Bummer. Still I did that a couple times and sometimes I found myself lucky to discover some really good stuff.

Prime Object is not intrinsically a bad band. They don't suck eggs big time. The music is rather professionally recorded and that's cool but something bothers me. While a track like Disciple's got some good qualities and may be considered competent Deathcore, a track like Daily Pills just screams WTF? I mean take an almost decent Deathcore track, put in it some pop'ish breaks and ruin it with cheesy keyboards from hell and worst of all sweet-talking 'Epica-like' female vocals... Damn, it sounds like the soundtrack to some bad fem anime... I mean I remember seeing something like Turkish MTV once at a kebab place, and it oozed of cheesyness... and that's what that track feels like to me.

What exactly is the purpose of mixing so many 'trendy' elements in so small a time? I have no clue... to me it screams 'I'm a whore, sign me'. I have nothing against bands making money and living out of and for their music, but this goes beyond anything I've ever heaed.

I may be wrong and probably when/if you're a 12 yo boy or girl, you might find that it's cool!! (like LOL cool).

I don't.
