When I first heard this demo, I thought : "What a great thrash metal from my country, they must be the best !" Now, I know that the best thrash metal bands from Croatia are Evil Blood and Witchcraft but this is surely the best new Croatian thrash metal band, or at least it was, as I don't like their album from 2006 "Burned Out Cells", which sounds like bad Metallica tribute album. However, I think that their following release will be good. But the point of this review is "The Land Of Eruption" so I will not speak much about their other releases.

The demo was recorded in their original line-up, which consisted of great guitarist Vedran, who is still in Inciter and Goran Lučić (the drummer), probably the best instrumentalist in Inciter, who sadly left the band in 2008.

Riffs have some special sound, only similar sound I found was in Legija's eponymous song, and that's something I respect. As I said, drums are played with knowledge and I can only praise playing.

Vocalist had high-pitched voice, I said "had" because he sounds much worse and lower now, I don't know why, but he can't sing even close to this anymore. Maybe, he hasn't got some great technique or pronunciation of english, but he done awesome job on this recording.

The most recognizable riffs are featured in first two songs, "The Land Of Eruption" and "Destroyed". "Destroyed" is a bit faster, both riffs and solo. There are also some melodic parts on the demo, "Restless" has 35 seconds long slow and melodic intro, along with it's second solo, which last for more than one minute. Longest guitar solo is featured on the closing track, "Reaching for the End", lasts over one and a half minute.

All in all, this is one great thrash metal demo, and is a must have for all thrash maniacs. "The Land Of Eruption" remains band best release so far...
