WarMetal, le Saturday 19 November 2005 talk to your friends

Demigod. This is a heaven gift which I’ve never expected, especially from these polishes known for years as a black metal reference. But if we look closer to the evolution of the band these last years we’ll realize that it was logical that Nergal & Co. Would do their last battles on the death metal scene.

How to start ? This album is so amazing that it was difficult to describe. It’s a kind of extraordinary force locked up in a small space and trying to get free even by ruining everything on its way ! And the result is : a real slaughter !

It’s a pure death metal album on the american way that the band is offering now. A real accumulated know-how in years. The lead guitar plays an ear-catching death metal riffs with an oriental shade going with a well done rhythmical and a drum which the least to say is that it was Excellent. The arrangement was so well made and even perfect : even the small details were controlled. The solos are excellent too and linked up with an incredible fluidity and fineness without even talking about the amazing structure which prove that the all was made by a master hands (Conquer All, The Nephilim Rising, Xul). A master that planned everything to the point of preparing us before every solo’s begining. Sometimes we can get an unexpected riff that can come out after the solo and thus to be a logical suite.

The vocals of Nergal are so powerful and matched as it should be with the riffs in iron of the guitar (Before Aeons Came). The drummer provide an excellent performance with itense, ultra-speedy and various rythm and also an original work which only the big names of drums (Gene Hoglan, Sean Malone, Hellhammer…) can naturally give us. Speed, precision that give us the envy to plan an extra-time just to appreciate the drums.

An enormous production with an agressive sound demonstration on all the levels : guitar riffs, vocals, drums,…

At the end, it’s a real masterpiece offered to us by the polish band and a hard punch to the face of the new band orientation detractors which are devoid of arguments in front of a technical, agressive, amazing and especially original Demigod.

An European lesson on a field that until now is strictly reserved to americans, and our polishes are abviously here to stay and to challenge…Who dare for more ?
